Instructions
In this activity, you will create comics and puzzles that you will then share with the class. This is an individual project, but as with all projects in this class, you are encouraged to help each other.
Step 1
Create a folder for this project on your Desktop. We will do this as a class. Call the folder Unit1
Step 2
Now we're ready for the fun part. Creating comics and puzzles!
Important: You do not have to create comics and puzzles. You can choose which to focus on. Please see the rubric for details. Of course, you can create both if you wish.
Let's start with comics. You can create your comics using the digital tools of your choice. Consider using AI imaging tools.
Your comic should be about something, obviously. Ask yourself this -- who is your audience? What reaction do you want to get from them? Is it a funny comic or a serious comic?
Be sure to save your comics in your Comics folder! The teacher will help you turn paper-based comics into digital format.
After making a comic (or two, or three), you can create some puzzles. There are many free puzzle creation tools online. Simply do a search for 'free puzzle creation for education'. Here are a couple links to get you started:
As with comics, when you are creating your puzzles, be sure to know who you are creating them for. It's up to you! You'll also need to identify a theme for each puzzle.
You can create as many comics and puzzles as you like, but remember, in this class quality is more important than quantity. Whenever you think you have finished something, try to improve it. Get a classmate to give you feedback on it. Make it better!
Be sure to save your puzzles in your Puzzles folder!

Step 3
Now that you have finished creating all your comics and puzzles, it's time to share them with the class.
First you need to upload your Comics and Puzzles folders to Google Drive in order to share them. We will do this as a class, so follow the teacher's instructions.
You will also post a link to the Google Classroom activity page.
Step 4
Enjoy each other's creations! Be sure to save your links because you may want to use some of these later in the class!
Important: All work must be saved in a format suitable for printing. Online tools for puzzles may have an export function allowing you to export your puzzle to pdf format. If not, then you'll have to take a screenshot of the puzzle.
